"HEIGH HO, HI-LO:" ART YOU CAN PLAY WITH AT GALLERY PROJECT

May 1, 2005 -- What happens when you bring 'serious' artists together
for a show about play? "Heigh Ho, Hi-Lo" is a combustible blend
incorporating traditional media with everything and anything else. The
show's guest curator and one of the exhibiting artists is Bobby Campbell, an
MFA candidate at the University of Michigan. The other artists in the show
are all Michiganders either by chance or by birth. They include two
painters, three ceramists, a furniture designer, two sculptors, a sound
sculptor, and a photographer. Their media include clay, wood, plastic,
polyester fibers and resins, Visitors to "Heigh Ho, Hi-Lo" can play with
dolls, rearrange blocks, make toys flip, sit down to a tea party, make
beautiful music, and excite their eyes. Free yourself from the pressure of
"getting it" and revel instead in "doing it" at "Heigh-Ho, Hi-Lo." Touching
the artwork is definitely allowed! ###
